K1 Group’s Trademarks Got Registered for Its Outstanding Security and Consultancy Services

K1 Security Service Private Limited is incorporated in 2008 at Bhubaneswar, Odisha commonly known as K1 Group. It was founded by Sj. Niranjan Choudhury, a retired forest officer. This is a security company which aims to provide security guard and consultancy services in the State. It provides the best security solutions to Individuals, Institutions, Industrial and Businsess Houses. It has also event management security services for those who seeks protection in any event or function. Apart from this, it also helps the youths who are seeking for employment. K1 Group provides Career and HR solutions, which provided an employment opportunity for the job seekers.

In the present competitive market place, registration of a trademark becomes essential for any Company, Organisation or Individual to distinguish and protect their goods and services from others. Registration also helps the owners, in creating a brand value of their mark for their products or services among the consumers.

Hence it has several brand names offering multiple services, Mr Manas Ranjan Choudhury, the Director of K1 Security Service Private Limited felt it is necessary to protect these brand names which have unique logos. He consulted with Lex Protector International Law Office for registration of K1 Group’s trademarks.

First, the Trademark Professionals of the Lex Protector conducted trademark search to find out whether any similar or identical mark exists in the Indian Trademark Database for “K1 SECURITY”, “K1 FORCE”, and “K1 CARE” and their logo. As this brand names deals with Security, Employment, HR Solutions and Consultancy Services, Trademark Professionals of Lex Protector filed trademark applications for “K1 CARE” (Device Mark) in Class 35 and for “K1 SECURITY” (Device Mark), “K1 FORCE” (Device Mark) in Class 45.

After few days of filing, objection was raised by the Indian Trademark Registry on the ground of possibility of likelihood of confusion among the people due to existence of similar marks. In response to such objection trademark professionals of Lex Protector had filed the response on the basis of various principles and guidelines, which they had arrived at through research and analysis of number of cases and principles. The response was accepted by the registry and the trademark applications were published in the trademark journal for opposition by third party. However, no opposition came forward.

Finally, “K1 SECURITY”, “K1 FORCE”, and “K1 CARE” got registered and Trademark Registration Certificate was issued by the Registry, in March, 2018.  Presently, K1 Group has a registration over their trademarks, which gives them the monopoly to use the mark along with the authority to stop anyone else from using the mark.
