Today’s Patent- Inflatable Boat
Inflatable Boat, is a light weight boat. Its bow and two sides of the boat are made of flexible tube, which contains pressurised gas. Giancarlo Mambretti, got a patent protection over inflatable boat. This protection was provided by USPTO on 8th July, 1969, with patent number US3453671.
This was not the first patent that was granted to inflatable boats. This patent was granted for the improvement in inflatable boats. As a reason of which we are honouring this invention and the inventor by making it our “Today’s Patent”.
In this patent, a plastic strip is fused to the tubular body at the region of its stern end and is formed with grooves which receive edges of the transom, the latter being secured to the strip by being welded thereto.
