Today’s Patent- Means for mooring and housing airships
Housing of airships always has been a problem for all. Solving this problem becomes very important because Airships are huge and needs to be protected for their safe usage. Wilfrid V N Powelson and Travell Warren realized this problem and tried to come up with a solution.
They got patent protection over this on 15th September 1941 in USPTO with registration number US1823063. This invention tried to solve the existing problem by providing a shelter wholly or partly underground and providing inspection and repare which are otherwise not available in any hangers. We cannot say how successful this invention was, but we can say that this invention definitely tried to overcome some real problematic situations.
