Today’s Patent- Road Vehicle
Charles E. Duryea, was awarded with a Patent over Road- Vehicle. This patent was granted on 11th June, 1895 by USPTO, with registration number US540648, as a reason of which we are honoring “Road Vehicle” as our “Today’s Patent”.
The object of this invention was to come up with a “Road Vehicle” which was not unduly heavy, self- propelled, simple, easy to control and comparatively inexpensive. The invention related to driving-gearing and to means for controlling the action thereof. Charles Duryea, in 1893, with his brother Frank Duryea founded Duryea Motor Wagon Company, they came up with many other inventions which are still in use. Duryea Motor Wagon Company, remains the oldest motor vehicle manufacturer in the United States.
