On June 11, 1957, GMC was a registered as a trademark of General Motors Company in USPTO with the registration number 646914. General Motors is an American Company mainly involved in manufacturing and selling automobiles. It has its headquarters at Detroit, USA.
Founded in 1908, by William Durant in Michigan to consolidate different vehicle companies, today the company has become one of the leading manufacturer and seller of automobiles. From supply of automobiles to Americans and the Allied forces, since World War II, to contributing to Space Program, the Company has played major role in history. It has also helped in developing the navigation system for Apollo 11, and designed and manufactured the first vehicle driven on the moon, Lunar Roving Vehicle.
General Motors now has eight distinct brands under it, namely: Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, GMC, Holden, Baojun, Wuling, and Jiefang. It is the largest automobile manufacturer in USA and fourth largest in the world. It has also secured Rank 18 among the fortune 500 brands in 2018.
