The company was founded on 12th October 1847 by Werner von Siemens. In 1867, the company came to India and started producing steam turbines, turbo compressors, high-voltage switchgear, etc.
The company was incorporated in 1897. In 1907, the company had 37200024 employees and was the seventh largest company in the German empire by the number of employees.
