On 5th December 1882, Clark Brown got patent protection with Patent No. US268614A for an useful invention namely, Cephalometer which is obviously an important instrument for growth and development of science, as it is used to take measurement of human heads for medical, and research purposes.
Now-a-days it has become an useful device for those who contribute towards study and research in this field, ranging from Phrenology to Anthropology and Sculpture.
He came up with this through the improvement in the measurement technique, that the instrument is made up with the combination and arrangement of parts in such a manner that an accurate measurement can be taken of all the portions of the head, with relation to the central portion of the head analogous with the medulla oblongata and spinal column.
