TODAY’S PATENT – APPARATUS FORMING AND/OR TRANSPORTING LOADS
There are various types of apparatus used as trolleys or wheelchairs which are used as lifting mechanisms. In today’s patent, we will discuss Adrian J. Boyer’s invention, “Apparatus forming and/or transporting loads” (US4255823A), which was patented by the USPTO on 17th March 1981.
The present invention relates to an apparatus for moving and/or transporting patients, invalids, or other incapacitated persons. Such trolleys do suffer from defects such as instability and inability to perform the operations due to its restricted movement.
The primary objective of this invention is to overcome the disadvantages by providing a base frame for the patient as a support to the apparatus for its movement. It also aims at providing essential functions of the apparatus such as moving the patient onto and off the bed, toileting the patient, and bathing the patient.
