Today’s Patent- Electric Vote Recorder
World renowned inventor “Thomas A. Edison” is famous for his invention electric light bulb. However, his first patented invention was not light bulb but “Electric Vote Recorder”.
Edison secured the Patent over this invention on 1st June, 1869. So, today, on 1st June, 2018 we are honouring this inventor and his first ever Patented invention by making “Electric Vote Recorder” our first ever “Today’s Patent”. The invention was patented in USPTO with registration number US90646. In this invention, the legislators will vote by moving the switch to either of two points i.e. “Yes or “No”. On a previously prepared paper the name will be imprinted by electricity under the desired head. Dials on either side of the machine will record the numbers of “Yes” and “No”. However Edison’s Vote Recorder was never used.
