Today’s Patent- Electric Flat Iron
Initially the electric iron was known as “Electric Flatiron”. At that time, on 6th June, 1882, a person named Henry W Seely was awarded a patent over “Electric Flat Iron”.
This Patent was granted by USPTO with registration number US259054. So, today on 6th June, 2018, we are honoring this patent by making it our “Today’s Patent”. Before this invention came into existence, there were charcoal filled iron and other type of irons. Which were difficult to use and difficult to carry. By the year 1880 a lot many people had thought about making ironing easy with electricity. This invention weighed 15 pounds and took considerably long time to get heated.
