Wonder Woman is a fictional superhero comic and movie character featuring in DC Comics. The character was introduced into the comic universe with the All-Star Comics #8 in October 1941 and her first feature in Sensation Comics #1 in 1942. The character of Wonder Woman was created by psychologists and writer William Moulton Marston (Charles Moulton) and Harry Peter, along with Elizabeth Marston and Olive Byrne.
Wonder Woman is addressed as Princess Diana on her native island of Themyscira which is cloaked away from the rest of the world. The inhabitants of the island are only women who are called Amazonians, the Amazonians were stationed on Earth by the Greek God Zeus to protect the planet from evils and terror.
The character of Wonder Woman was aired on television in 1971 and in 2016 the character played a cameo role in the movie Batman v Superman and a stand-alone Wonder Woman movie in 2017 and 2020 wherein actor Gal Gadot plays the character.
